Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Kyoto’s iconic old lanes—before the crowds arrive.
This tour is your chance to experience Kyoto’s big hitters—without the busloads and selfie sticks. We start early (yes, it’s worth it!) to explore three of the city’s most famous spots before the rest of the world catches up.
With a friendly guide leading the way, you'll stroll through sacred torii gates, peek into traditional neighborhoods, and hear the stories behind the shrines, streets, and centuries-old rituals that still shape Kyoto today.
The day begins with a quiet ascent into the vermilion glow of Fushimi Inari Shrine. With its winding trails of endless torii gates, it's one of the most photographed places in Japan—but this early, it feels almost private.
From there, we’ll head to the slopes of Kiyomizu-dera, one of Kyoto’s most revered temples, with sweeping wooden verandas and panoramic views of the city. You’ll wander through the Sannenzaka district, where old wooden houses line stone-paved lanes, and locals still sweep their stoops as they’ve done for generations. Then it is on to a hidden gem called Sanjusangendo with it's over 1000 buddhist statues that were carved in the 11th and 12th centuries. We will share the stories that go behind the sights and make it delightful the whole day through. This isn’t just a checklist of landmarks—it’s a deep dive into Kyoto’s heart, wrapped in morning light and quiet charm.
By the time most tourists are finishing their breakfast, you’ll already have seen some of Kyoto’s best—and heard the kinds of stories you won’t find on signposts.
